HORIZONTES’ BACKGROUND
Associaçao Horizontes is a nonprofit organization, formed in June 2004, whose MISSION is “to promote sustainability, citizenship, social inclusion, employment and income development, by means of education” and whose VISION is “to be recognized, nationally and internationally, as the most capable nonprofit organization in resource management to promote sustainability, citizenship, social inclusion, employment and income development, by means of education”.
Associaçao Horizontes is entitled by the OSCIP (Organização da Sociedade Civil de Interesse Público), and it has been internationally certified, according to the NGO Benchmarking standard, by the independent Swiss certification and auditing organization: Société Générale de Surveillance (SGS).
Associaçao Horizontes has some of the best economical and financial performances in the third sector, having designated more than 1,000 of its professionals to more than eighty projects in three different states: Santa Catarina, Sao Paulo, and Mato Grosso. With headquarters in Sao Paulo and a subsidiary in Florianopolis, besides the operational units where it develops its socio-educational activities, Associaçao Horizontes distinguishes itself for its strong competence for the implementation of projects. Just to have an idea, in its six years of existence, Associaçao Horizontes has already trained more than 100,000 people, in 75 different occupations, generating formal employment for more than 22,000 of them, and providing economic grants for 62,000 people in the three mentioned states and eighty municipalities.

Brief Background
Here are some of Horizontes’ achievements in the past years:
- 3,900 youths trained by the Consórcio Social Juventude (Sao Paulo, ABC and Florianopolis).
- 1,000 low-income youths trained with the program São José Inclui, in partnership with the Bureau of Economic Development (Secretaria de Desenvolvimento Econômico).
- Training more than 30,000 people in Sao Paulo, Jundiai and Florianopolis with private social investment.
- Generating more than 20 thousand jobs in the areas of sales, customer service and telemarketing.
- Training 1,300 youths in partnership with Sao Paulo authorities (Prefeitura Municipal de São Paulo) and with the Associação Brasileira de Telesserviços – ABT).
- Training 2,400 youths from Osasco with the project Projeto Juventude Cidadã of the Ministry of Work and Employment (Ministério do Trabalho e Emprego).
- Training more than 3,000 people in association with prefectures within the state of Sao Paulo.
- Training of more than 15,000 youths in juvenile detention.
- The establishment and management of Corporative Universities to offer higher education for more than 13,000 employees.
- Training 35 thousand families in Energetic Efficiency in the state of Santa Catarina.
- Professional training and increase in the education level of 15,200 youths in the program Projovem Urbano in the states of Santa Catarina and Mato Grosso.
- The graduation of 160 call center employees in partnership with the Ministry of Science and Technology (Ministério de Ciência y Tecnologia).
- All the projects from Associaçao Horizontes count with the support and partnership of universities, organizations, companies, institutes and public and private foundations. It is also worth mentioning that all these projects have made our partners win several national awards and recognitions, such a Prêmio ABT, Prêmio ADVB Empresa Cidadã e Top de Marketing, Melhores e Maiores (100 Best companies to work in Brazil) and others.
